Role Description

 

The Sheraton Athlone Hotel is recruiting for an experienced Hotel Receptionist. Reporting to the Front Office Manager, Mark Glennon, the successful candidate will have an outgoing and friendly personality and have the ability to engage with people and build strong working relationships. Full training will be provided on all Front Office Systems included Marriott programs.

Responsibilities will include:

Assisting the Front Office Manager and the team with with the smooth running of the Front Office Department.
Work as part of a team but also be able to work on their own initative.
As the first point of contact, you will greet and welcome guests to the hotel
Follow the day-to-day procedures of guest check-in and check-out
Dealing with and resolving guest queries
Excellent organisational skills
The ability to handle cash efficiently.
The ability to maximise revenue through the use of yield management and occupancy controls.
Balancing and handling of cash

Role Requirements

 

  • Applicants must be proficient in MS Office Suite

  • Experience with Opera

  • Or alternatively, Fidelio or IGS computer packages.

  • Fluent level of both written¬†and spoken English is essential.

  • Please note that the position includes shift and weekend work.Excellent telephone manner

  • Applicants must have at least 12-18 months experience as a Hotel Receptionist in a similar establishment.
